Chemical Field Effect Transistor
Le ChemFET, ou Chemical Field Effect Transistor, est un type de transistor à effet de champ agissant comme un capteur chimique. Il a une structure similaire au MOSFET, où la charge sur l'électrode d'entrée est appliquée par un procédé chimique. Il peut être utilisé pour détecter atomes, molécules, et ions dans des liquides ou des gaz.

In the past decade, tremendous progress has been made in organic field effecttransistors. Fused oligothiophenes and anthracene molecules are fascinatingmacromolecules having unique optoelectronic properties. These compounds are successfully employed as active components in optoelectronic devices including field effect transistors. Our goal is to design and synthesize conjugated molecular materials, which are highly functionalized through structural modifications in order to enhance their electronic, photonic, and morphological properties. The main desire is to synthesize novel organic fused-arenes having efficient charge carrier mobilities, as well as to optimize optical properties for organic field effect transistors (OFETs). Novel series of fused arene molecules of 9,10-di(thiophen-3-yl)anthracene (1), trans-2,5-(dianthracene-9- vinyl)thiophene (2), trans-5,5’-(dianthracene-9-yl)vinyl)- 2,2’-bithiophene (3), 5,5’-di(2 thiophene)-2,2’-bithiophene (4) , 9,10-(divinyl)anthracene core with 1- phenylcarboxypyrene (6) and polymers of poly(anthracene-co-bithiophene) (5) and poly(anthracene) (7) have been synthesized as promising materials for organic field effect transistors (OFETs). These compounds were confirmed and characterized by 1H-NMR, FT-IR, and elemental analysis. Their optical, thermal, and electronic properties were investigated using UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis respectively. Future studies will focus on evaluating OFETs performance of these material.

"Electronic Transport Imaging in a Multiwire SnO2 Chemical Field-Effect" by Sergei V. Kalinin, J. Shin et al.
The electronic transport and the sensing performance of an individual SnO2 crossed-nanowires device in a three-terminal field-effect transistor configuration were investigated using a combination of macroscopic transport measurements and scanning surface-potential microscopy (SSPM). The structure of the device was determined using both scanning electron- and atomic force microscopy data. The SSPM images of two crossed one-dimensional nanostructures, simulating a prototypical nanowire network sensors, exhibit large dc potential drops at the crossed-wire junction and at the contacts, identifying them as the primary electroactive elements in the circuit. The gas sensitivity of this device was comparable to those of sensors formed by individual homogeneous nanostructures of similar dimensions. Under ambient conditions, the dc transport measurements were found to be strongly affected by field-induced surface charges on the nanostructure and the gate oxide. These charges result in a memory effect in transport measurements and charge dynamics which are visualized by SSPM. Finally, scanning probe microscopy is used to measure the current-voltage characteristics of individual active circuit elements, paving the way to a detailed understanding of chemical functionality at the level of an individual electroactive element in an individual nanowire.
